Elara has officially started walking. At first, it wasn’t so bad since she would only walk a few steps and then plop down onto the floor, but now she is pacing back and forth in our tiny apartment! Not only that, our park visits have become more frequent and longer now that she’s more independent and can walk around on her own. Continue Reading “Snacking on the Go”
In my opinion, the right blend of spices is what turns an ordinary meal to an extraordinary meal. Growing up in an Indian household – spices were plentiful and mixing them was an artform. Luckily there is a service that does this for you! Raw Spice Bar is a monthly subscription service that sends you globally inspired, freshly ground spice blends. Not sure what to do with all the spices? Not to worry, they include a recipe for each spice blend in the kit! This month, I was introduced to spices from Anguilla – full of Caribbean spices! It’s officially back to school time and everyone is trying to figure out how to make their kids lunch boxes extra special this year. As a kid, my school lunches consisted of Indian food until I finally broke down and told my mom I wanted peanut butter and jelly sandwiches like everyone else. I LOVE peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and still have it quite often at home. Continue Reading “Nutella Cashew Butter”
This month I decided to join another blog group called the Secret Recipe Club. Every month members assigned a blog from which they have to create and post an original recipe from. It’s a great way to meet new bloggers and try new dishes. The fun part is that you don’t know who has you blog and what recipe they will choose. Members then post their re-creations on the same day and find out who had their blog! Continue Reading “Power Sunrise Smoothie”
About a month ago I had my very first faux buffalo wing in Rochester, NY at Owl House Restaurant . Honestly, it’s probably the best faux wings I’ve ever had in my life! It was spicy, sweet, sour, crunchy, meaty with a garlic-y broccoli slaw that was the die for. Ugh…so good. Ever since my trip there I’ve been on a mission to recreate their wings. After 2-3 failed attempts, I have finally got it! Continue Reading “Vegan Cauliflower Buffalo Wings”
A few months ago I stumbled upon Zipzicle Ice Pop Molds and I’ve been waiting to use them for the summer. When summer rolls around, I usually like to end my day with an ice cold popsicle or Italian ice (Jersey girl issues). I think I’ve actually programmed it into my brain because when it gets hot I immediately start craving frozen treats.
Growing up, my mom would get us otter pops from the dollar store and at the end of the summer I’d end up having 2 permanent cuts on the edges of my mouth from eating so many of them. #thestrugglewasreal This summer now that I’m a grown up I don’t plan on changing that. Except this time I’m going to make my own otter pops that are sugar-free and healthy! My hubby and I will be climbing Half Dome in 2 months and we’re trying to get fit. After a long sweaty workout sessions, these are the perfect guilt-free treats.
